Next Level : User Accounts and Board sharing

We're excited to be building a useful kneeboard app with your support! As you know, our app currently lets you customize your tiles layout to best fit your flights. However, we are reaching the limits of what can be done in the browser as non authenticated users.

We are considering some features such as:

  • Sharing: Imagine sending your kneeboard with a fellow pilot.
  • Cloud Storage: Save your personalized boards to the server, so you can access them from any device (data is stored in the browser today).
  • Voting: Browse existing boards, get inspired and up vote the most useful configurations.

To unlock these features and take your experience further, we're exploring the possibility of user accounts. This would allow us to:

  • Identify Users: No more anonymity! User accounts would let you interact with the app and the community in a more meaningful way.
  • Store Data Securely: We can securely store your custom boards and preferences on our servers, accessible from any device you log in with.

The question is, how would you prefer to sign up? We're considering allowing users to connect with their existing Google ID or Facebook ID. This would be a quick and convenient way to create an account and access these exciting new features.

What do you think? Let us know in the comments below! We value your feedback and want to make sure these changes align with how you use the app.

Together, we can build a more powerful and collaborative kneeboard experience for everyone.
